Therapeutic Bodywork & Massage.

The benefits of dry brushing include smoother, younger looking skin. Because it is so important, we will remind you of this often. It is important to develop the habit of dry brushing often, regardless of whether you are receiving treatment from us or not.

People have long used dry brushing to achieve a youthful glow. Ancient Egypt, Rome, and Greece all practiced dry or semi-dry skin cleaning. Ancient Romans would use olive oil and a curved metal instrument made of bronze, to clean their skin when bathing. Garshana is an Ayurvedic practice that uses a dry bristle brush or silk gloves to stimulate lymphatic movement and cleansing. In traditional Chinese medicine, dried silk squash fibers – which we commonly call loofah – are used to cleanse lymphatic tissues and drain toxins.

Our therapeutic bodywork & massage services include dry brushing as an integral part of several of them. We recommend you choose a body treatment that includes dry brushing, like our Liberate Ritual, or ask your therapist to add it on. The treatment will begin with a dry brushing, followed by a body scrub infused with 100% pure essential oils. The warm organic oils lock in the moisture and leave your skin feeling soft and hydrated for hours.
