With over 20 years’ experience in spa and massage therapy at companies including Luxor, The Four Seasons, Mandalay Bay, Hard Rock Hotel and Wynn Las Vegas, Tommy has made massage his passion and has created a technique that is uniquely his own. He looks forward to sharing his experience and knowledge as a bodyworker with generations of therapists and massage enthusiasts to come.

Tommy holds a degree in Massotherapy from the Ohio College of Massotherapy and lovs helping people heal through massage. He excels using several techniques he has perfected over the years to bring relief to the areas of the body that need it.

Kimberley Valentino

Massage Therapist

As a Board Certified and Licensed Massage Therapist since 1994, Kim specializes in multiple modalities to increase range of motion, improve neck, back, and shoulder pain, and ease tension and stress. Kim graduated from the Dahan Institute of Massage Therapy and Core Institute School of Somatic Therapy while studying with “The Masters” of massage therapy to strengthen her detailed healing massage ability.

Kim loves to work with athletes of all levels and backgrounds anad assist and heal people with chronic pain, and is incredibly passionate about designing and executing targeted techniques for prenatal and postnatal massage. She enjoys an active lifestyle, cycling, yoga and live music, and is always practicing her best version of work/life balance.

Katelynn Shultz

Spa Manager

Katelynn started her career as a cosmetologist here in Las Vegas, working at Treasure Island and Planet Hollywood. You may have seen her at The Wynn, The Spa at Red Rock, and the Westin at Lake Las Vegas. Her experience in leadership and spa management roles sparked her passion for continued growth.

Katelynn loves working with people who inspire her and hopes to be the same inspiration to the people she sees and interacts with every day. Her favorite quote is “have an attitude of gratitude.” Fun fact: Katelynn and her husband love spending their weekends on their Harley cruising around town.

Lisa Stephens

Esthetician

Lisa is a double-skilled technician in massage and esthetics. She has traveled the world, providing services Internationally, which she enjoys incorporating into her custom treatments. Developing her signature style of healing treatment, Lisa utilizes her natural gift of energy healing. Each treatment she gives is customized towards the client to achieve better confidence and understand a better daily skin regimen. Her philosophy for all her work is to let the art of healing in you and finding body, mind, and spirit in balance.

Dana Tanabe

Lead Esthetician

Dana has worked as an aesthetician in the spa industry for 18 years, beginning in Ocean City, Maryland. Dana enjoyed the beach resort setting but decided to move to Las Vegas to continue her education and guest service experience. She has worked at several 5-Star resorts, including Canyon Ranch and The Wynn Spa.

Dana has always had the drive to help others feel better about themselves. Her goal with every guest is to give a results-driven treatment and create an experience that focuses on overall wellness, providing the reset we all need from life stressors. She believes in the importance of skin education, at-home maintenance and self-care.

Sarah Jean “SJ” Ellis

Massage Therapist

Sarah Jean is a Veteran of the United States Navy and a Licensed Massage Therapist, having graduated from Everest Institute, Virginia Beach, in 2007. Her passion for massage therapy flourished when she moved to Las Vegas in 2008 and began her massage career working with several popular resort hotels, including Green Valley Ranch, The Palms, and Mandalay Bay.

She is passionate about the role of massage therapy in helping manage a person’s overall health and wellness and has pursued accelerated training in AshiAtsu, Prenatal Massage, Reiki, and Accunect. When not at Lapis & Oak, Sarah Jean is a busy mother to four beautiful children (three boys and a girl).

Gabriela Hernandez

Massage Therapist

Gabriela graduated from the Nevada School of Massage Therapy in 2016. Soon after, she recognized her passion for deep tissue, sports, and injury therapy. She recently joined Lapis & Oak after managing a team of massage therapists and looks forward to sharing her gifts with our locals and visitors alike. She looks forward to helping you achieve your health and wellness goals.

Gabriela believes in optimizing every massage to her guests’ specific needs and recovery. She has studied and trained in numerous modalities, including trigger point, prenatal, and whiplash therapy. To assist in the multi-faceted spa and wellness industry, Gabriela strives to bring many levels of healing and relaxation to every person on her table. When she’s not massaging, you can find Gabriela powerlifting, following her favorite sport of hockey, and devoting time to her passion for cars.

Michelle Curl

Massage Therapist

Michelle is a highly skilled massage therapist and educator, with extensive training in the Hawaiian Mana Lomi – “to the bone and the soul” – technique. She carefully tailors her therapeutic massage sessions to clients’ individual needs, integrating neuromuscular, Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial and shiatsu techniques into her sessions. Michelle completed Mana Lomi training through Level III with Dr. Maka’ala Yates D.C. at the Aloha Lomi Academy in Kauai, Hawaii, in 2017. In 2021, she pursued Massage Therapist and Health Educator studies at the National Holistic Institute in Sacramento, graduating with knowledge of both Eastern and Western Modalities and Advanced Neuromuscular Therapy. In addition to 2000+ completed hours of training, Michelle’s interests include human anatomy, holistic healing, fitness and outdoor activities.

Penny James

Massage Therapist

Penny graduated from massage school in Boston, MS, in 1996 and is highly trained in a vast range of modalities. She moved to Las Vegas in 1998 and immediately started working on the prestigious Las Vegas Strip. Penny has always focused on continued education and training, knowing the importance of education in the constantly growing and advancing spa industry, which is why she obtained her aesthetic degree in 2003, giving her a dual license in Massage Therapy and Esthetics. Penny comes to Lapis & Oak from the Delano Las Vegas Bathhouse Spa, where she worked as an Esthetician and Massage Therapist. There, she trained under the creator of Eminence Organics, Boldijarre Koronczay, which makes her a perfect fit here at Lapis & Oak. Whether you are looking for a new skincare routine that will change or maintain your skin health or just a relaxing day at the spa, her knowledge, experience, and meticulous eye for detail will ensure that your trip to Lapis & Oak is an exceptional experience every time. Frank has a strong working knowledge and passion for anatomy with over 1,000 hours of hands-on training specializing in trigger point therapy from Berks Technical Institute in Reading, Pennsylvania. Over his tenure working as a licensed massage therapist in a chiropractic setting, Frank’s goal has always been to find the source of his guest’s pain. He is dedicated to helping people reach their health and healing goals effectively. Whether you desire a deeply therapeutic massage, work on long-term injuries and trauma, or building a regular wellness routine, Frank can personalize each massage to meet you where you are on your journey.

Nicole Tomich-Dufrene

Massage Therapist

Nicole graduated from UNLV in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Injury Management. She attended the Chicago School of Massage Therapy and earned her associate’s degree in massage therapy in 2003. Her goal is to help people live better lives by utilizing the healing benefits of massage. Nicole’s passion is to help heal people inside and out. She believes self-care is a MUST in today’s busy world. Regular bodywork is the key to living up to your fullest potential. Nicole has spent several years working in luxury day spas. She most recently joined Lapis & Oak after eight years at the Wynn Spa in Las Vegas. During her off time, Nicole enjoys her Peloton bike, strength, and stretching classes. She is married with four beautiful children and continues to pursue education in fitness, nutrition, and various holistic modalities. Nicole looks forward to assisting you on your path to wellness.

Maureen Walker

Lead Massage Therapist

Maureen graduated from the Nevada Career Institute in 1998, where she earned her National Certification License in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Her goal is to act as a healing conduit, offering massage clients improved mobility, increased flexibility, and new perspectives in self-care. She is passionate about supporting her clients to become more successful in all aspects of their personal, professional, physical, mental, financial, and spiritual lives. Maureen believes a healthier and more fulfilling life can be achieved through the healing benefits of massage. Maureen has dedicated over ten years to massage therapy working in luxury day spas at Wynn Las Vegas and The Four Seasons. She is also a nationally certified instructor in Cupping and teaches students across the United States how to use this ancient healing method as part of their massage practice. Maureen is highly qualified to use many modalities during her massages, including prenatal, body stretching, range of motion testing, cupping, Ashiatsu, and trigger point therapy – to name a few.
